Why should I Volunteer
Your skills and experience can contribute to the government’s efforts in providing comprehensive and quality antenatal care to pregnant women − especially pregnant women from rural/hard to reach areas and vulnerable populations.
As trained and experienced professionals, it is our responsibility to make sure that women do not die during pregnancy for the want of healthcare. While India has come a long way over the last 10 years — due mainly to the interventions of the National Health Mission — we are still fighting to reduce the number of maternal deaths in our country and reduce our Maternal Mortality Ratio — which is currently at 167/ lakh live births.
We urge you to pledge your support to this cause and dedicate the 9th of every month to the health of pregnant women. Your support is crucial for ‘Saving lives of Mothers and Newborns’.
‘Service is its own reward’— I am sure you all agree that an opportunity to reach out and serve the poorest and most vulnerable sections of society is the biggest compensation for a doctor.
You will be recognized as a considerate and generous leader who has the vision to share their knowledge and experience to help others without looking for compensation. As the great religious leader, Swami Vivekananda said “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached!”
We have a sacred duty to provide ANC services to those who have missed opportunities to access healthcare and spread the word that specialist volunteers are required for this noble cause!
We ardently hope that you will ‘Pledge for 9’ and pledge to join this movement & make a difference to women and infants who require your services!!!
